Livnat at briefing: Democracy is falling apart

MK Limor Livnat (Likud) said Tuesday that "the infrastructure of democracy is falling apart... The core of democracy has been seriously damaged," Army Radio reported. Livnat said that the cause of this was "mainly because of one thing - that the Prime Minister is giving a negative example and ignoring his duties as a head of state." The comments were made during the Knesset State Audit Committee after a brief from State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss on the method by which his office had collected materials about the war in the North. At the hearing, Lindenstrauss also criticised the Prime Minister's office for prolonging the handing over of vital information to his offices, thus drawing out the investigation.
