Livni praises US decision not to take part in Durban II

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Saturday praised a US decision not to take part in UN anti-racism conference Durban II.
The foreign minister said the conference would "anti-Semitic and anti-Israel under the mask of fighting racism."
She added that the decision "must lead the way for more countries that share the same values" to make similar moves.
The conference is a follow-up to the contentious 2001 conference in the South African city of Durban which was dominated by clashes over the Middle East and the legacy of slavery. The US and Israel walked out midway through that eight-day meeting over a draft resolution that singled out Israel for criticism and likened Zionism to racism.
