A man known to have a criminal background was moderately wounded in Eilat on Sunday after being shot in his car by an unknown assailant on a scooter. The man's four year-old son was also in the vehicle, but escaped uninjured.
Eye witnesses say four shots were fired by the gunman who pulled up close to the man's vehicle near a department store. The gunman then fled the scene.
Police say the shooting is likely an attempt to "settle the score" between criminal organizations, adding that the injured man was not in a life-threatening condition.
Police continue to search for the gunman.
