Man suspected of selling fake Viagra in Beersheba

An elderly Beersheba resident was arrested by police Thursday on suspicion that he was operating an illegal business in fake Viagra pills. Detectives from the Southern District's Fraud Squad noted an advertisement in a local newspaper which was offering would-be customers the sought-after drug. The detectives made contact with the "salesman" and made an appointment with him to meet and purchase pills. Detectives at the stake-out said that they were surprised when they saw their "dealer" approaching on a motorcycle and realized that the 67-year-old suspect was old enough to be their grandfather. Nevertheless, upon searching his motorcycle, police discovered about 200 fake Viagra pills, with a street value of thousands of shekels. The man was arrested by police, claiming during questioning that he was not the dealer, but that he had rather been sent as a deliveryman.
