Mazuz: No legal obstacle to appointing Lieberman foreign minister

Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz has told Prime-Minister designate Binyamin Netanyahu that there is no legal obstacle to appointing Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman foreign minister, Israel Radio reported Tuesday.
It came despite Mazuz's senior assistant, Raz Nizri, saying Monday that Lieberman would be interrogated for a chain of alleged offenses - including bribes, fraud, violation of trust and violations of anti-money laundering laws - shortly after coalition talks are concluded.
In Monday's Supreme Court hearing on the decade-long probe, prosecutors and police argued that a final decision on the case was just around the corner, while a panel of Supreme Court judges gave investigators a 60-day deadline to finalize their conclusions.
