Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz met Palestinian Civil Affairs Minister Muhammad Dahlan to discuss the reopening of Rafah border crossing.
An opening of the border would allow traffic of goods and people between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
The border crossing was closed shortly after the IDF pullout from Gaza in September, since the Egyptians, who were supposed to monitor the border, failed to stop the massive flow of terrorists and ammunition into Gaza.
The most serious controversy between the Israelis and Palestinians has been the placement of surveillance cameras along the border to monitor traffic. Mofaz insisted that Israel wouldn't compromise its security needs.
