National Hypertension Day events to be held Tues.

A special day to raise awareness about high blood pressure and encourage people of all ages to be tested will be held on Tuesday, November 1. The central event will be at Holon's Wolfson Medical Center, which is inviting the general public to a free event from 12:30 to 4 p.m. All participants can have their blood pressure checked, hear lectures by doctors, ask questions, and receive nutritional advice from a dietitian. High blood pressure is known as the "silent killer," causing stroke, heart disease, kidney disorders and other medical problems if not treated by exercise, diet and/or medications.
