Navy gunboats have been firing artillery shells at northern Gaza fields and Kassam launch sites throughout Friday morning. The artillery barrages were a response to Kassam fire Thursday overnight. Two Kassam rockets were launched overnight Thursday from the northern Gaza Strip into the Negev. No one was wounded nor was any damage inflicted in the incident. The IAF responded by dropping fliers over Gaza, calling on Palestinian citizens to rein in terrorists and refrain from going near Kassam launch sites. In addition to the fliers, the IAF bombed two buildings in Gaza overnight Thursday that were used by al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades to plan terror attacks. They also bombed the launch site of a Katyusha rocket which was fired recently from the Gaza Strip towards a critical infrastructure target in Israel. In the West Bank, one Palestinian was killed and two IDF soldiers were wounded overnight Thursday in Nablus. The incident occurred during an army operation in the area, Army Radio reported. The army said the man was killed after a group of gunmen opened fire on troops in eastern Nablus, but relatives and neighbors of the dead man, Wafaa Yaeesh, 22, was he was unarmed and not linked to any militant group.
