Netanyahu: Gov't dealing with personal survival, not Israel's problems

Opposition Head Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday lashed out at the Cabinet for its decision to transfer the investigation of wiretapping made during the probe of then-finance minister Haim Ramon into the hands of State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss. "The proposal is unreasonable and should not have been brought up to begin with," Netanyahu said. "The Cabinet wasted an entire day on a topic that should not even have been raised for deliberation." "I am astonished at this government, and find it hard to believe what is revealed to us," Netanyahu continued. "Israel has many problems, and yet the government did not deal with all of those issues but rather with personal survival stratagems."
