Netanyahu retreats on World Likud split

The Likud will have only one faction in the World Zionist Organization after Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu decided on Wednesday against splitting the faction. Netanyahu had intended to form a new faction with some World Likud delegates to protest irregularities in Sunday's vote for World Likud chairman. Netanyahu is still considering forming a new International Likud organization, pending the decision of courts on the legality of Sunday's vote. Meanwhile, several World Likud delegates broke off from the faction and joined Kadima or Israel Beiteinu.
