Netanyahu's chief of staff, Naftali Bennett, resigns

Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu's chief of staff, Naftali Bennett, resigned Monday, due to irreconcilable differences with other Netanyahu associates and his desire to return to the private sector. Bennett joined Netanyahu's office after the Second Lebanon War in which he served. A hi-tech multimillionaire who sold his company for $145 million, Bennett attempted to similarly build Netanyahu into a success. But his efforts were foiled by other staff members and advisers who helped Netanyahu lead the Likud from 40 seats to 12 in the last election. Netanyahu thanked Bennett for his service and expressed hope that he would return to his staff after he becomes prime minister.
