Olmert congratulates Clinton on her appointment as US secretary of state

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Monday congratulated Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on her appointment to the position of US secretary of state.
"Sen. Clinton is a friend of the State of Israel and the Jewish People and I am sure that - in her new position - she will; continue to advance the special Israel-US relationship," said Olmert.
US President-elect Barack Obama announced her appointment at a press conference in Chicago.
