Olmert: The decision to go to war was justified

The decision to go to war last summer was justified, and northern Israel is better for it, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said during a tour in the North on Thursday morning. "The north of Israel enjoys today, a year after the Second War in Lebanon, a calm security that it hasn't known for four years," Olmert said. "Even today I am convinced that the decision we made was justified, when we decided to remove the threat from our northern border." The prime minister also added that the defense establishment is making great efforts to overcome the weaknesses which were revealed during the war against Hizbullah.
