Olmert: There were many mistakes in absorption of Ethiopians

"The absorption of Ethiopian immigrants was hard and painful and there were many mistakes in the process," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Wednesday night. Speaking during a conference for Ethiopian Jews at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, Olmert added that "the [Ethiopian] olim sought to feel like a drop that returned to the ocean. However, they were not received with open arms but with alienation and sometimes racism."
