The final stage of Omri Sharon's sentencing hearing concluded Wednesday at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court with Sharon apologizing for mistakes he made at the beginning of his political career, adding that everything he did was out of love for his father and a belief in him.
"I admitted my acts, I was convicted in court, I resigned from the Knesset, and I have no intention of returning to the Knesset," said Sharon.
Sharon was convicted of perjury and election fraud, and the prosecution has asked the court to sentence him to prison time without the option of community service, and to punish him with a significant monetary fine.
