Palestinian, settler arrested after West Bank clashes
By JPOST.COM STAFF
A Palestinian and a settler from Asa'el were arrested Saturday after a clash between residents of Asa'el and Palestinians backed by Israeli left-wing activists, Israel Radio reported.
The activists and a group of Palestinians allegedly set fire to a field owned by the settlement, and a dispute erupted between the settlers and the Palestinians.
Asa'el residents alerted firefighters who arrived at the scene and managed to contain the blaze.
A Palestinian suspected as one of the arsonists was detained by the security officer of Asa'el. After Palestinians told police that a settler had attacked members of their group, the settler also was taken into custody.
