Peace Now to Egged: Cancel bus lines to illegal outposts

Peace Now demanded on Wednesday that Egged cancel bus lines to illegal outposts in the West Bank and dismantle bus stops which it has built in their vicinity, Army Radio reported. In a letter sent to the bus company and to the defense and transportation ministers, the movement's director-general Yariv Oppenheimer wrote: "We were surprised to discover that despite their illegal status, Egged has chosen to recognize the outposts and to provide them with [transportation], without any approval from the civil administration." In response, Egged said the company was acting "according to the directives of the transportation and defense ministries. We consider any outposts which are not being evacuated by the IDF as ones in which normal lives are being conducted, and we must provide [for them]."
