Defense Minister Amir Peretz, while speaking at a Labor faction meeting on Tuesday, said he had told senior IDF officials to prepare an additional military strategy, in case the diplomatic efforts do not yield solutions that satisfy Israel.
Peretz emphasized Israel's four main aims in cease-fire talks: Demilitarization of southern Lebanon, the dismantling of the Hizbullah, the return of the kidnapped soldiers, and the stipulation that if anyone were to open fire at Israel again, the country could defend itself.
