But this is not a government built around a single agenda item. We have a wide platform.

A significant event like the recent war with Lebanon changes realities and requires reassessment. The prime minister has rightly decided that now is not the time to pursue realignment; the conditions are not right.
Among other things, this is not the time for pushing forward a policy that would be divisive. That is not to say that we won't come back and look again at realignment in the future.
But this is not a government built around a single agenda item. We have a wide platform.
In the diplomatic sphere alone, we would like to pursue the possibility of a dialogue with Lebanon. We are working to ensure the isolation of Syria, a sponsor of terrorism with which there must be no contact. There is no possibility at present of a dialogue with [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas, but we would favor such a dialogue were conditions right.
And most importantly, we must work to strengthen the international coalition against Iran - the gravest danger of all.
