PM remains defiant despite admitted unpopularity

Embattled Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared Thursday that he would continue to lead the country despite his unpopularity. "I am an unpopular prime minister," Olmert admitted at a meeting of Kadima activists, acknowledging approval ratings that have approached single figures. Dismissing his critics, he said, "Though we are in the midst of the hunting season, I am sorry to disappoint my detractors - I am here to lead."
