While searching a Jaffa apartment on Sunday, an elite police unit discovered dozens of metal plates upon which were inscribed the names of IDF soldiers killed in action.
The 32-year-old tenant was detained by police for questioning on suspicion that he stole the plates from the IDF Commemoration Unit. During questioning, the suspect admitted his ties to the theft.
He was expected to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday for an extension to his remand.
