Quick-response teams simulate a terror attack on a passenger train
By YAAKOV LAPPIN
Police held a large-scale drill across southern Israel on Wednesday simulating a number of scenarios, including a terrorist infiltration from Egypt and a drive-by attack on soldiers at a hitchhikers post.
The main exercise was based on a simulated terror attack on a passenger train travelling from Dimona to Beersheba. The exercise involved Magen David Adom paramedics, firefighters and Israel Railways officials.
Negev sub-district Police Commander Lt-Cmdr. Yossi Prainti said the simulations were a "reflection of existing threats, and deal with expected problems."
He added that police had preformed well in the drill, acting with determination and efficiency.
