Organizers claim rally a pre-election gathering of Israeli Arabs, call decision "act of political terror."

Police Commissioner Insp.-Gen. David Cohen issued a warrant Friday to shut down the Al Maidan Theater in Haifa after reports that a support rally for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine was planned to take place there on Saturday.
Following the decision, the rally organizers said they would hold the rally in a different location and at a different time.
"This is political terror, another severe and blunt decline of democracy and freedom of expression in Israel," former Hadash MK Issam Mahul told Army Radio Saturday, referring to Cohen's decision.
Police said the rally was deceptively branded as a pre-election gathering but added that they received intelligence the rally would in fact focus on support for PFLP, the organization headed by the late George Habash and defined a terror group in Israel.
Police said they would close down any other location which would offer to host the rally.
