Schneller refuses to participate in talks on settlement freezing

MK Otniel Schneller (Kadima) declared on Tuesday that he would not be a part of talks between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and US President George W. Bush on the freezing of settlement building and natural growth. "It's possible to compromise in a lot of areas for the sake of peace, but on one matter we must not compromise, and that is the natural growth in the settlements," said Schneller, a close associate of Olmert. "It doesn't matter if it's President Bush or the prime minister of Israel, [we] must not accept under any circumstances any freezing of natural growth," he asserted. "This means that my daughters aren't allowed to have children anymore. These were the decrees of Egypt and decrees that were around 70 years ago."
