Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is scheduled to convene the security cabinet Wednesday to discuss an expansion of IDF ground operations in south Lebanon.
The army's plan includes a push to the Litani River in order to take control of Hizbullah's short-range rocket launching sites.
Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said on Israel Radio Tuesday that the offensive against Hizbullah stood no chance of success without an advance to the Litani.
