Justice Minister Meir Sheetrit said on Thursday that Amir Peretz should leave his position as defense minister and instead take on the finance minister portfolio.
In an interview with Israel Radio, Sheetrit added that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert must regain his composure and refocus on the political process.
"The prime minister can either make history or be history. Everybody knows how a peace agreement with the Palestinians would be viewed," Sheetrit. "It would be a shame to continue this blood-letting for another twenty years."
