Sheikh Jarrah Jews sing Purim praises of Baruch Goldstein
Video surfaces on Internet featuring songs hailing Hebron massacre killer.

A video that surfaced on the Internet this week features footage ofJewish residents of Sheikh Jarrah in northeast Jerusalem singing songspraising 1994 Hebron massacre killer Baruch Goldstein during Purimcelebrations inside a house in the neighborhood’s Othman Bin AfanStreet.The house, which had been the Gawi family’s until they were evicted in August, is now home to a number of Jewish families.Afteryears of legal battles between the home’s tenants and its Jewishowners, a Jerusalem court ruled in favor of the latter. Other suchevictions have been carried out in the neighborhood as well.Tensions in Sheikh Jarrah remain high, as weekly protests against suchevictions continue and clashes between Arab residents and theirsupporters and Jews flare up sporadically.Goldstein, who wasborn in Brooklyn and later lived in Kiryat Arba, was beaten to deathafter he opened fire on Muslims praying inside a mosque at the Cave ofthe Patriarchs in Hebron on Purim day in 1994, killing 29 people andwounding 150.
