Shots fired at border police at Beitunya Crossing

Shots were fired Friday at border police who opened the gate at Beitunya Crossing to Palestinian olive pickers. One policeman was lightly wounded the leg and was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. The ambulance that evacuated him was hit by rocks and damaged, but no one was wounded in the incident. Border police and IDF troops were conducting sweeps of the area around Beitunya, Israel Radio reported.
