Student strike may lead to semester extension

A committee of university heads announced on Tuesday evening that due to the student strike that has been in effect for the past few weeks, the second semester will need to be extended. According to the committee's announcement, if the strike does not end by the weekend, the committee would convene next week to make the operative decisions the situation requires. The committee once again called on the leaders of the protest to "take responsibility and avoid the damage that will be done to the students." The student strike, which is protesting reforms proposed by the Shochat Committee that include an raise in tuition, is scheduled to continue on Wednesday.
