Three Petah Tikvah municipality workers arrested

Only a week after Lod Mayor Benny Regev was arrested by the National Fraud Squad under suspicion of accepting bribes, Central District police arrested three senior officials in the Petah Tikvah municipality, under suspicion that they too committed serious acts of corruption. Police revealed Sunday afternoon that over the past two months, an undercover investigation led by the Fraud Squad of the Central District has been investigating the municipality's treasurer, the head of the haredi education system and a member of the city council who also serves as the head of the "Ezer Mizion" Foundation. The investigation was only made public after the three were arrested Sunday.
