Lindenstrauss-Arieli's car windshield was smashed while away on vacation in France.

Police in the North have opened an investigation into the vandalizing of a car belonging to Traffic Court Judge Ilona Lindenstrauss-Arieli, who is the daughter of State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss.On Sunday, Lindenstrauss-Arieli, who is married to the head of the Tivon Regional Council, told police that her windshield was smashed while her car was parked outside of the couple’s Kiryat Tivon home. They were on vacation in France at the time of the incident, and were alerted to the damage by neighbors.Police are checking a number of directions, and are seeking to find outwhether Lindenstrauss-Arieli was targeted because of her position, orthe positions of her husband or father, or whether thieves attempted tobreak into the vehicle.The investigation is being led by the central unit of the Coastal (Hof) Police.In recent weeks there has been a surge in attacks on judges. In one ofthe most well-known recent incidents, Supreme Court President DoritBeinisch was struck by a shoe thrown by 52-year-old Pini Cohen inJanuary. Cohen has been charged with assault.
