Two killed, two injured in car wreck near Arad

A man and a woman were killed, and two more were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles Saturday near Arad in the Negev, Israel Radio reported. Traffic police investigators that arrived to the scene said the truck appeared to have veered from its lane and smashed into a private vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The female driver of the vehicle, who was reported to be around sixty years of age, was killed instantly and two other passengers in the car's were injured. The extent of their injuries was not reported. Magen David Adom rushed to the scene of the accident. They pronounced the woman dead on the scene and the injured were transported to Beersheva's Soroka Medical Center. The driver of the truck, who was critically injured in the crash, died en route to the hospital, medics said. Transportation officials had begun an investigation into the accident.
