UN General Assembly calls for immediate cease-fire in Gaza
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a non-binding resolution demanding an "immediate and durable and fully respected cease fire" in Gaza on Friday night.
The resolution reiterated the legally-binding UN Security Council resolution adopted last Thursday.
The vote was 142-4 with eight abstentions, but several countries said afterward their votes were not counted correctly.
The four no votes were: Israel, the United States, Nauru and Venezuela, which wanted a stronger resolution.
