Discharged soldiers will no longer be eligible to receive unemployment benefits immediately following their release from the army, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, a soldier will only become eligible for such benefits one year after their release, and only on the condition that they were unemployed for the first six months of their post-army life.
Officials in the Defense Ministry slammed the decision, arguing that instead of helping soldiers, the government is damaging their rights.
