Weisglass: Rice cancellation may be tied to PA

Former prime ministerial advisor Dov Weisglass said Tuesday that US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's decision to cancel her trip to Israel may have been connected to situation in the PA, not necessarily the Israeli government. Weisglass noted that with the current anarchy in the Gaza Strip and West Bank due to the infighting between the Fatah and Hamas factions, it would be difficult to determine which officials to hold talks with. Regarding the Winograd interim report on the Second Lebanon War, Weisglass stressed that it was important to remeber that it was only a partial report. He noted that it was unreasonable to expect the government to resign based on this alone, and that the country must wait for the final results.
