Petah Tikva police arrested a 35-year-old woman on Monday on suspicion of injecting her two-year-old daughter with harmful substances, the Sharon sub-district police reported.
The woman, a Netanya resident, was caught in the act while the girl was admitted to Schneider Children's Medical Center for Israel in Petah Tikva.
Police assessed that the woman suffered from Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome, a disorder in which a caretaker deliberately exaggerates, fabricates or induces health problems in others.
