Yishai says disputed Hebron house settlers should stay

Shas chairman Eli Yishai visited the disputed Hebron house on the way from Kiryat Arba to the Tomb of the Patriarchs on Thursday and said that its 100 residents should be allowed to remain there.
The State Attorney's office decided on November 18 that Jews did not purchase the four-story building and that police may evict the settlers who have been occupying it since March.
Yishai called the decision "political" and said he would ask Defense Minister Ehud Barak to allow the building to be renovated for the winter. At Yishai's request, the Knesset State Control Committee will meet soon to discuss the matter.
