More than half a million views have been recorded for the English Yad Vashem channel on YouTube in the month since it was launched, officials at Yad Vashem said over the weekend.
Nearly 600,000 views were recorded on Yad Vashem's English YouTube channel, compared to just over 10,000 on the Arabic channel, Yad Vashem spokeswoman Estee Yaari said.
Following the inauguration of the English and Arabic channels last month, Yad Vashem launched on Thursday a Hebrew-language channel for the Israeli public.
The Hebrew channel contains dozens of testimonials of Holocaust survivors, which are augmented by archival photographs, a virtual tour of the new Holocaust History Museum, as well as stories of families that have been reunited decades after they had been separated during the Holocaust.
"The enormous popularity of our English and Arabic channels on YouTube testify to the strong interest in the Holocaust," Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev said.
"The presence of Yad Vashem on YouTube is extremely important in view of the disinformation and lies disseminated on the Internet in respect to the Holocaust."
