ADI Systems and Movon launch driver-recording app

The application not only reconstructs the route the driver took, but also displays a wide range of data during the trip, such as the speed of the vehicle at any given time.

The Jerusalem-based ADI Systems and Korea’s Movon Corporation have launched what they are calling the Movon Driver Assistance System, or MDAS Viewer, which allows a vehicle owner to examine and analyze an automotive trip. ADI Systems is a representative of Movon in Israel.
The application not only reconstructs the route the driver took, but also displays a wide range of data during the trip, such as the speed of the vehicle at any given time, what the speed limit was, when the driver applied the brakes and whether the driver indicated an intention to change lanes before doing so. 
In addition, the application displays all the alerts from the Movon system that were activated during the trip such as front-vehicle collision warning, deviation from the lane without indicating, warning of pedestrian collision and any failure to maintain the proper distance between vehicles.
The use of the application is especially suitable for parents of young drivers who want to check their children’s behavior on the road, as well as companies that want to check up on their drivers from time to time. The use of the application is free of charge and can be downloaded from the Movon Israel homepage.
A camera installed on the windshield of the vehicle connects to the vehicle’s computer, from which it receives information about its speed and the operation its signaling system.
The system includes a monitor on the dashboard that shows the system data to the driver during the trip.
The camera scans the route of the road while in motion and when necessary alerts and draws the attention of the driver by means of voice and visual alerts against the dangers that lie ahead. The system includes: forward collision warning, lane departure warning, pedestrian collision warning, forward proximity warning, front vehicle start alarm, traffic sign recognition and a warning system for children locked in the car.
