1. HIGH EXPECTATIONS What to Expect When You’re Expecting is a romantic comedy based on a book of the same name, about five couples who experience the thrills and surprises of having a baby. Starring Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick and Brooklyn Decker as prospective mothers, with Matthew Morrison and Todd Smith, and featuring many celebrity cameos, such as Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole and Black Eyed Peas member Taboo.
DANCE 2. DANCING BACH Rina Schenfeld, often described as the queen of Israeli dance, is celebrating 50 years on stage with a new evening – BACH – in collaboration with composer- pianist Gil Shohat. Schenfeld and her ensemble dance to music by Bach, played live on stage by Shohat.

3. BACK IN THE GAME Rufus Wainwright returns to Israel for two performances, with both Teddy Thompson and Krystle Warren as opening acts. Leading a band of eight musicians, Wainwright will perform songs from his new album, Out of the Game, as well as past hits.

4. The renowned Kuhn Choir from Prague performs an evening of a cappella music including Czech romantic and modern music. One of the leading choirs in the Czech Republic, the Kuhn Choir is well known for its performances of 19th-century works.

5. SHAPING HISTORY Two influential 20th-century artists, the German Joseph Beuys and the Polish Tadeusz Kantor, are presented to the Israeli public in a new joint exhibition at the Israel Museum. The exhibition examines the major 20th-century events and the complex relations among Germans, Poles, and Jews that altered the worldview of that time and shaped the individual histories of these two renowned artists.

6. The exhibition “Critical Mass” is the first major show to introduce the Israeli public to the thriving contemporary Indian art scene. The show, at the Herta and Paul Amir Building of the Tel Aviv Art Museum, features 17 artists whose works are anchored in a tumultuous social and political reality in Indian society today.

7. A new exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the Bible Land Museum reveals the secrets of gold, the most magical of metals, that have captivated humanity throughout history. On display is a wide variety of gold jewelry and vessels from across the ancient world.

8. CARMEN IN THE DESERT The Israeli Opera’s largest ever production in Masada this year is Carmen, one of the most celebrated of Georges Bizet’s operas and one of the most popular operas of all time. Renowned Israeli Opera conductor Daniel Oren will lead a cast of hundreds in a spectacular production, performed in a specially created opera village built on the desert floor and set against the backdrop of the historic site of Masada. 9. TATTOOED A first-of-its-kind festival of tattoo art in Israel will be held at the Museum of Israeli Art in Ramat Gan next Thursday. The festival, called Artattoo 2012, will host the best tattoo artists, who will present their work and create new ones

EMPOWERING FASHION The annual fashion event organized by the Female Spirit organization, which raises funds to help sexual assault victims gain financial independence, features top names in Israeli fashion, who donate garments and accessories to be sold at reduced prices ranging from NIS 20 to NIS 120. This year there will also be an area for bridal gowns, ranging from NIS 500-1,000.
