Green kindergarten lays down roots

Haifa has inaugurated its first "green kindergarten," aimed at inculcating environmental awareness.

Haifa has inaugurated its first "green kindergarten," aimed at inculcating environmental awareness in even the youngest children, reports Yediot Haifa. The new kindergarten, in the Romema neighborhood, will cater for children aged from six months to four years, and aims to provide education and activities focusing on recycling, gardening and protecting the planet. A spokeswoman for the kindergarten said it was important to instill environmental awareness in children from the earliest possible age, and said the kindergarten would provide a range of games and a "happy childhood" while at the same time teaching children to respect and preserve their environment.
