Tel Aviv asks for tips on saving water

Despite the recent rains, Israel is still in the midst of a water crisis, and Tel Aviv is asking residents for advice on how to save water, reports www.mynet.co.il. The city's website has officially begun asking residents for their tips on how best to save water at home and in public areas, and plans to publish the most useful ones on the website. According to the report, the city has set a goal for itself of saving 20 percent from its domestic and municipal water consumption, and has taken a number of steps toward this target, although the report did not detail these. A municipal spokesman said that back in 2001, in a previous water-saving campaign, the city managed to cut 10% from its water consumption by installing computerized irrigation systems and water-saving measures in municipal buildings.
