City inspectors have confiscated thousands of kilograms of suspect meat, chicken and fish from markets around Tel Aviv in recent days, reports www.local.co.il. Inspectors found more than 3,100 kg of meat and chicken of unknown origin at the Carmel market and some 450 kg of suspect fish at the Jaffa fish market.
According to the report, city inspectors decided to conduct a series of raids ahead of the coming Pessah holiday, and confiscated an astonishing quantity of questionable meat, chicken and fish. A municipal spokesman said all residents are being asked to purchase such foods only from sellers who keep them properly refrigerated, and only when they are clearly labeled with their production and expiry dates.
