More than 1,000 participants are expected to make their way to Eilat for a large-scale bridge tournament.

European and world champions are due to flock to the 2016 Red Sea International Bridge Festival for the event taking place from November 10 to 20.

The contest, along with related social events in the southern resort town, will take place at the Royal Beach Eilat and Isrotel King Solomon hotels.

The card-game festival, now in its 22nd year, offers considerable cash prizes for winners of its diverse repertoire of games. The colorful extravaganza includes games in pools and along with pair and team competitions.

Eilat on cloud 9 for EDM ‘Grounded Festival’

For an uplifting experience along the foothills of Eilat’s red-sand Edom mountains and on the shores of the Red Sea, the town from November 10 to 13 will for the first time host the Grounded Festival of electronic dance music.

The semi-exclusive festival will feature more than 40 hours of music, video art, visual performances and lighting shows as local and foreign DJs take the stage.

The festival lineup includes Israeli artist Yotam Avni, Israeli DJ pair Red Axes, British DJ Lee Burridge, French artist Ivan Smagghe, Russian artist Izhevski and more.

The festival grounds at the U Coral Beach Club and Dekel Beach will be equipped with amenities such as food stands, juice bars, massage treatments and sun decks.

Cycle the Kinneret in Galilee bike race

As autumn begins to set in the scenic Galilee region, the roads and area around Lake Kinneret will be filled by cyclists for the 39th annual Sovev Kinneret (Circle the Kinneret) bike race.

The November 5 Dor Alon Sovev Kinneret event, organized by the Jordan Valley Regional Council along with the Sport and Culture Ministry, will offer five different routes for participants of all levels of proficiency of cycling.

There will be a 65-kilometer route encircling the entirety of Lake Kinneret, a 31-km. route, a 10-km. route of short lanes suitable for families and beginners, along with 16-km. and 30-km. mountain bike races. Registration is open until November 5 at 6:30 a.m.

Tel Aviv after dark: Night run in November

Some 25,000 runners are expected to fill the streets of Tel Aviv on November 16 for the city’s highly anticipated annual Night Run.

Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to line the course of the urban trail and cheer participants along the distance of the 10-kilometer race. The run will kick off from Rabin Square, and will consist of various heats leaving at different times starting from 8 p.m.

The finish line of the festive run will be located at the “Nonstop City’s” Ganei Yehoshua in Hayarkon Park, where musical performances and celebratory events will greet participants.

The event is open to participants over age 14 with an accompanying doctor’s note. While early registration closed on October 10, late registration is available until November 10.

Mideast church music festival lands in Jaffa

A festival celebrating organ music from churches around the Middle East will take place on November 1 and 10 at St. Peter’s Church in Jaffa as it makes its way across the region.

Tuesday’s event is the Terra Sancta Organ Festival’s fourth stop in Jaffa this concert season, which has also included locations such as Amman in Jordan, Kubeiba in the West Bank, Larnaca in Cyprus, Nazareth, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

The festival will offer the rare experience of hearing a pipe organ outside the liturgical context.

According to the festival’s organizers, the festival’s stops take place at churches and shrines where Franciscan friars of the Custody of the Holy Land have been present for centuries.

While the festival is set in churches, admission is free and open to people of all religions and aims to shed light on the minority Christian communities in the Middle East.

Herzliya holds fourth annual Women’s Run

Herzliya is set to hold its fourth annual Women’s Run on November 3.

The race will take place at Herzliya Park and participants can chose from a five-kilometer route or a free one-kilometer route.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first three participants to cross the finish line. Participants of both sexes are permitted to register as individuals or teams in the race that supports women’s athletics.
