18 Jordanian prisoners released from Syrian jails return home

Eighteen Jordanian prisoners released from Syrian jails returned home Thursday, their lawyer said, in line with a deal reached between the two countries' leaders.
The deal was reached by Jordan's King Abdullah II during talks in Damascus on November 18 with Syrian President Bashar Assad. Abdullah said after the meeting that Assad had agreed to free an unspecified number of Jordanian prisoners.
Late Wednesday, the Jordanian State Minister for Information Nasser Judeh said the 18 were jailed for different reasons, but did not elaborate.
