Abbas: Mashaal's remarks "harmful, irresponsible"

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday called Khaled Mashaal's remarks that a "fifth column" in the region was working against the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority "harmful and irresponsible." "What is going on now in the Palestinian Authority is not opposition, rather a plot to undermine the new government," Mashaal had added. In response to Mashaal's speech on Friday, the Fatah revolutionary council published a statement that accused Mashaal of "trying to incite a civil war."
