Al Qaida site promises message from al Zawahri

Al-Qaida on Thursday promised to issue a message by its number two leader about the hostilities in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon "soon," according to an Islamist Web site. It would be the group's first comments on the fighting that began a month ago. The video will most likely be released within the next 36 hours based on an analysis of previous release patterns. Ayman al-Zawahri will weigh in on "The Zionist-Crusader Aggression on Gaza and Lebanon," declared the flashing red banner that appeared on the site that Islamists frequently use. The message is consistent with efforts in 2006 by al-Qaeda's senior leadership to be responsive in their messaging to current developments.
