A Dutch man accused of planting roadside bombs to kill US troops in Iraq has pleaded guilty.
Wesam al-Delaema is the first alleged insurgent from the Iraq war to be prosecuted in the United States. He was born in Fallujah and traveled to his hometown after the US invasion.
The charge he faced was conspiracy to murder Americans outside the United States. Al-Delaema agreed to be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
He and his fellow "Mujahideen from Fallujah" videotaped themselves planting remote-control explosives along a road used by US troops. The explosives did not cause any deaths.
Al-Delaema was extradited from the Netherlands two years ago.
