A new proposal by the Trump administration calls for the remaining 48 hostages held by Hamas to be released within two days of signing, CNN reported Friday, citing a source familiar with the details.

In the 21-point plan proposed by the US, All IDF soldiers and personnel would withdraw from the Gaza Strip in exchange. The report did not mention how long the withdrawal would take or when it would be enforced.

The report also did not elaborate on whether or not Hamas had been presented with the proposal. One detail of the plan says that the terror group cannot have any governing future or power in the territory, and calls for "two levels of interim governance: an overarching international body and a Palestinian committee," the source told CNN.

The source cited by the American network stated that the US administration's proposal had been shared with Arab leaders earlier this week, who expressed broad support for it, with CNN citing them saying that "they don't think it's perfect," but that they "want to see an end to the conflict as quickly as possible."

New hostage proposal undergoing revisions?

The report added that the hostage deal proposal may have undergone revisions since it was initially presented, with it likely being reviewed by Qatari officials, the report alluded, as the source said that one key detail includes prohibiting Israel from ever striking Qatar again, as it did earlier this month.

Additionally, the source told CNN that other details include that there cannot be any forced displacement of Palestinian civilians.

Saudi Arabian news source Al-Hadath added additional details to the new Trump proposal, saying that the US plan includes offering Hamas amnesty in exchange for leaving Gaza and surrendering its weapons. The Saudi source said that in exchange for Hamas releasing the remaining 48 hostages, Israel would release between 100 and 200 Palestinians serving long prison sentences.

The plan also mentions an international initiative to reconstruct the Gaza Strip over the next five years, the Saudi source added, while a Palestinian security force would be established to administer the region under Arab and international supervision.

Regarding the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF), CNN cited its source, only mentioning the UN as a responsible provider of humanitarian aid in the Strip, while Al-Hadath reports that the Trump plan calls for the GHF's closure.

Hours after the CNN and Al-Hadath reports, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he has had "very inspired and productive discussions with the Middle Eastern community concerning Gaza.

"Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement." He then added that Hamas is also aware of the discussions, and that "Israel has been informed at all levels, including Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu."

This was after the US president reiterated earlier on Friday that he is close to a deal to end the war in Gaza and bring the hostages home, before departing the White House to attend the Ryder Cup golf tournament in New York. Netanyahu, however, said at the UN General Assembly the same day that the Gaza war would continue until the terrorist organization disarms.
