Iran supports any initiative that "ends the killing in Gaza," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday, in response to US President Donald Trump's plan for Gaza

Baghaei cautioned, however, that the plan had dangerous dimensions and risked obstruction from Israel, adding that any decision on the plan is up to the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed to the Gvura Families Forum that Israel will be responsible and involved in overseeing the disarmament in the Gaza Strip, and no representative of Hamas or the Palestinian Authority will be involved in controlling the Strip after the war.

According to the initial Trump statement, within 72 hours of both sides publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.

The released statement added that Gaza will be "a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.

Israeli and foreign officials told the Post that the greatest challenge in reaching an agreement will likely be the map outlining the Israeli withdrawal, as well as airtight American guarantees that if the hostages are released, the war will end.
